Most of our customers are looking for something new: new roof, new materials or new curb appeal for their home. For the St. James Lutheran Church in Baden, they were looking for something old.

Built in 1856, the historic building featured a distinctive steeple, which was replaced in 1925 with a more modest cupola. In wasn’t until 80 years later that a group of church members organized a project to build a new steeple in the image of the original.

Working with a local architect, woodworker and other craftsmen, NW Roofing carefully installed new cedar shakes to the new (or is it old) steeple. The New Hamburg Independent was there to capture the final stages of the project.
